Reviewed by: Stephan Reinhardt
Grown on red sandstone in a south-facing VDP.Erste Lage vineyard, the 2023 Roxheimer Höllenpfad Riesling trocken opens with a deep, pure, clear and intense bouquet, well concentrated and savoury, with stony and herbal notes, green or even grassy and earthy nuances, as well as phenolic notes. Round and juicy on the palate, with a touch of sweetness, this is an elegantly charming, fruity Riesling with soft acidity but a mineral, linear finish and aftertaste. Still young, this 2023 should be cellared for at least another three years to reach its best. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in October 2024.

James Suckling: "Complex and vibrant, with a range of floral (such as honeysuckle and wild rose) and spicy aromas... a crushed-rock depth of character that pulls it into the extremely long, bright finish."
