Description

Fritz Haag Riesling Trocken 2023 is an excellent dry entry-level white (VDP.Gutswein) from Germany's prestigious Mosel. Made by one of the region's most historic and respected producers (Weingut Fritz Haag, active since 1605), it reflects the classic typicity of cool-climate Riesling grown on steep blue-slate slopes.

The Wine Advocate

RP 90

Reviewed by: Stephan Reinhardt

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate gave Fritz Haag Riesling Trocken 2023 90 points.
The review was by Stephan Reinhardt (Parker's German wine specialist). The wine is praised for its clear, pure, mineral-focused profile, highlighting the elegance and liveliness typical of classic Mosel, with excellent value for an entry-level wine.

Bright, luminous straw-yellow, clear and delicate.

On the nose it's fresh, clean and expressive, with aromas of white and citrus fruit, hints of peach, nectarine, green apple and lemon peel. Discreet floral notes appear too, complemented by a distinct mineral side evoking broken stone and chalk.

On the palate it's light to medium-bodied, supported by vibrant, precise, incisive acidity that gives great freshness. Despite its dry profile, the fruit stays juicy and enveloping, creating an excellent balance of acidity, fruit and structure. The whole is fresh, mineral and very balanced, and distinctly food-friendly

It impresses with its delicate fruit and balanced acidity and minerality. An everyday wine and the backbone of our cellar.
