Description
Finca Martelo Reserva 2019 is a prestigious Spanish red made by Torre de Oña, owned by the respected La Rioja Alta group. From the Rioja Alavesa sub-region, it comes from vines over 60 years old at 630 metres and is bottled only in years considered excellent.

The 2019 Finca Martelo comes from an estate planted with a mix of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Mazuelo, Garnacha and Viura, at 630 metres, bottled only in very good or excellent years. Picking of the 2019 began from 15 October, and the destemmed grapes went through optical sorting and a five-day cold maceration, then fermented in stainless steel, with malolactic in new French and American oak barrels.
Ageing took place in oak barrels, 80% American and 20% French, for two years, during which the wine was racked four times.
2019 seems to have been a very complete vintage for Martelo; the wine is very harmonious and balanced, with power and freshness, intensity and persistence. On the palate it's surprisingly fresh, medium-bodied and finely structured, clean and elegant.
80,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in April 2022.
