Wine profile
Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 2 out of 5 — closer to «silky».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle.
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol
This wine: 5 out of 5 — closer to «high» (20% vol.).
Alcohol brings warmth and body. Still wines usually sit between about 11% and 15% ABV, while fortified wines such as Port sit around 19–20%.

Description
This wine has a yellow/orange hue with a marked aroma of caramelised almonds and spices such as cardamom and curry. Smooth on the palate, but very persistent.
The 30 Year Old Tawny Port is a blend of many ports aged in old 550-litre casks over many years in Quinta da Pacheca's new lodge. During ageing the wine loses colour, turning amber/orange.
The Wine AdvocateRP 94
The NV 30 Years Tawny Port is a field blend with 141 grams of residual sugar. It was bottled in January 2022 with a bar-top cork. This Port was reviewed recently, but this bottle is a new lot released a few years later. There are around 8,000 litres in each release.
This seems much fresher than the last one I tasted, letting the drinker focus on the delicious fruit and finish. It seems perfectly balanced, even a little understated for a 30-year-old Tawny. Part of this lot was bought from another producer, but the result is very fine. Compared with the last one I tasted, this new release reflects the style Pacheca wants, the winemaker said. The price refers to a 500-millilitre bottle.
