Dehours & Fils Maisoncelle Collection Extra Brut
Dehours & Fils Maisoncelle Collection Extra Brut is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Jérôme Dehours' vintage Maisoncelle is a champagne with great aromatic intensity. It is a cuvée made from a plot of Mareuil-le-Port planted mainly with Pinot Noir, but also with Meuniers, Pinot Blanc and Petit Meslier. It is a rare vintage, produced in just 1,800 bottles.
Maisoncelle is a plot of old vines that are around fifty years old. Located halfway up the slope and facing northeast, on clay loam soil, with very little limestone and very rich in iron, this land is 300 meters long. The vineyards located at the bottom of the plot were chosen for this cuvée, because they bring a touch of additional complexity.
This champagne is a Blanc de Noirs aged in barrels. This aging will allow the wine to open up, gain complexity and thickness and thus offer aromas of beautiful intensity. Malolactic fermentation is carried out to bring flexibility and roundness to this vintage.
Our conviction today is that the expression of a terroir finds meaning in the mixture of successive harvests, going beyond the “vintage effect”.
“Starting in 2013, we began to form a Perpetual Reserve for each cuvée parcel. Progressing over time, each Parcel Reserve has found its balance in its own renewal ratio. This proportion is 40% for Maisoncelle. »Jérôme Dehours
