Description
Cristal Rosé is the rarest version of Louis Roederer's prestige cuvée, made only in exceptional years. The 2014 blends 56 % Pinot Noir and 44 % Chardonnay from grand cru vineyards, its delicate colour coming from careful maceration of the Pinot Noir.
Pale pink, almost copper, with a very fine mousse. The nose shows raspberry, white cherry, blood orange and flowers, with a touch of spice. The palate is slender, ripe and extremely precise, with a silky texture and a long, vibrant finish. Rated 97 by Robert Parker and 96 by Wine Spectator.
Pair with tuna, salmon and mackerel sashimi, lobster or pigeon. Serve at about 10 °C. Ageing potential of 20 years or more.
