Description:
Absolut Vodka is one of the most famous vodkas in the world. It is a Swedish vodka made exclusively from natural ingredients, and unlike some other vodkas, it contains no sugar. In fact, Absolut is as clean as vodka can be. Yet it has a certain taste: rich, full-bodied and complex, yet smooth and velvety with a distinct grainy character, followed by a hint of dried fruit. In 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced continuous distillation with which he made Absolut Rent Brännvin. Instead of the usual three or four times, this vodka is distilled an infinite number of times.
One hundred years later, it was reintroduced as Absolut. Just as then, Absolut is produced in Åhus, LO Smith's hometown. It is also where the wheat used to make this vodka is grown. The way Absolut is made will not change, nor will the true taste of the vodka. The main ingredients of Absolut Vodka are water and winter wheat. The water comes from a deep well in Åhus where it is protected from impurities. Winter wheat differs from other types of wheat in that it is sown in the fall and harvested in the same season the following year. During this period, it grows under the Swedish snow and has a hard grain. In addition, the use of fertilizers is minimized.
