Description
This wine shows an intense ruby colour with deep violet glints, clear and bright in the glass. On the nose it reveals remarkable aromatic complexity, with ‘nuances’ of ripe red fruit such as cherries and blackberries, harmoniously intertwined with subtle notes of vanilla from ageing in French oak barrels. Floral ‘nuances’, especially violet, add a layer of sophistication to the bouquet.
On the palate it shows remarkable, balanced structure, with present yet silky tannins giving a velvety texture. Well-integrated acidity highlights the liveliness of the red fruit, while spicy flavours such as black pepper blend delicately with the oak, adding complexity and a long, persistent finish.
It shows striking elegance and excellent capacity to develop in bottle. With promising ageing potential, a few more years in the cellar are suggested for an even more refined expression.
This wine shows sublime harmony between fruit, oak and structure, standing out for its aromatic complexity and silky texture. It reflects Quinta do Couquinho's care and dedication in making wines of superior quality.
