Description
Cascina Baricchi Barbera d'Alba Riva della Coda 2021 is a small-production red (just 4,000 bottles) from Neviglie, in Piedmont, known for its structured, balanced profile.
Colour: Deep, bright and intense ruby red, showing youth and concentration.
Aroma: The nose is delicate and complex, with floral and vinous notes intertwined with aromas of fresh red fruit — cherry, raspberry and plum — and subtle herbal and spicy ‘nuances’. Ageing for 18 to 24 months in large oak casks adds a fine, well-integrated oaky touch that enhances the wine's elegance without overpowering the fruit.
Palate: On the palate it's balanced and refined, combining Barbera's natural strength with vibrant freshness. Well-defined acidity supports a medium to full body, enveloping and persistent. Soft, polished tannins give a silky texture, leading to a harmonious, long finish with notes of ripe fruit and light spicy echoes.
Conclusion: An intense, fresh and complete wine, combining structure and elegance with remarkable harmony. Ideal with full-flavoured dishes — such as roast meats, mushroom risottos or aged cheeses — that bring out its robustness and liveliness.
