Description

Sidónio de Sousa is one of the great producers of the Bairrada region. Known for having some of the oldest and best Baga vineyards in Bairrada, he still makes his wine traditionally, giving juicy, refined wines with good fruit, aged in old Portuguese oak, rare nowadays, even in Portugal.

The 2019 Vinho d’Autor has a traditional profile with some rusticity. It fermented in open concrete lagares with indigenous yeasts and partly destemmed grapes. It aged in concrete and for 12 months in a 90-year-old, 4,000-litre Portuguese oak tonel. It shows good ripeness and 14% alcohol, with a pH of 3.68. It has notes of wild berries, herbs and an earthy touch, with mostly polished tannins and vibrant acidity.

2,407 bottles were produced.
It was bottled in June 2020.
