Description
A true jewel of the Côte des Blancs, Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Brut Grand Cru impresses at first sight: golden with bronze and green glints, its fine, restrained effervescence reveals the care and patience of the cellar masters behind this Champagne.
AromaOn the nose it is of medium intensity but deeply intriguing: lightly oxidised Granny Smith apple, sea salinity, white pepper and crushed-shell minerality, all punctuated by a vibrant touch of lemon peel.
The palate delivers exactly what it promises: a powerful, structured and precise Chardonnay. Medium-high acidity is complemented by a creamy, perfectly integrated mousse. The finish is long for a non-vintage Brut, marked by lingering flavours of preserved lemon, fleshy tropical notes, aged cheese rind and dried pear.
At around 46€, this Grand Cru is an absolute rarity. A refined Champagne with depth and purity that rivals far more expensive labels. The skilful hand of Gilles Marguet is evident in every detail. Unbeatable value, and for those seeking even more sophistication, the vintage cuvée Sublime lives up to its name.
