The wine is made in the Loire Valley, from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety, which is immediately noticeable in the aroma, full of notes of green vegetables, cut grass and a slight tropical note of passion fruit. Beautiful acidity, it has a light body, but very suitable to accompany both seafood and some cheeses such as Camembert.

Located in the village of Saint-Andelain, three kilometres from the town of Pouilly-sur-Loire, Domaine Bonnard was bought in 1951 by the grandfather of the generation running the business. Initially, it started with mixed farming and livestock farming, evolving year after year year, to now specialize in cereals and wines. Pouilly-Fumé is a dry white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The name Pouilly-Fumé is composed of two parts. "Pouilly" for Pouilly-sur-Loire, the village of where Domaine Bonnard wines are produced and "Fumé" is short for Blanc Fumé, which is the local nickname for the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety.
