96 pontos Garrafeira Vinogrande (nota pessoal)

Couquinho, a wine that in the local language of the Alto Douro means “a place difficult to access”, has been produced on one of the Melo Trigo family farms for over two centuries. Many of the farms that once belonged to the family, including Quinta do Couquinho, are located in the Vilariça Valley, where local legends and stories are linked to the family.
The complexity of the blend of grape varieties from old vines gives the wine a complexity that brings us sensations of rockrose and scrubland with an elegant presence of very well integrated wood. It is full on the palate, with an elegant finish where wild fruits stand out, with a very fine finish, the result of highly polished tannins. A wine with an excellent structure, perfect for red meat, sausages and game dishes. A good wine for keeping.
