Áster Crianza 2021 "Emotion and Refinement"

Bodegas Áster belongs to the La Rioja Alta SA group. At the end of the 1980s, they began studying the soils and selecting the best estates in an emerging area known as Ribera del Duero. In 1993, they acquired old vineyards and began planting new ones. In 2000, the first Áster was born.

With a Mediterranean profile and challenging weather conditions throughout the cycle. Spring, with an irregular rainfall pattern, gave way to a dry summer, with high temperatures and moderate water stress that favoured the ripening and concentration of flavours in the grapes. A very high quality harvest, shorter than in previous years, with wines of great intensity, concentration, aromatic complexity and remarkable ageing potential. Officially classified as EXCELLENT.

Very high layer, black cherry in color, clean and bright, with an intense ruby rim. High complexity on the nose, where the mixture of ripe black fruits and notes of forest fruits blend with intense aromas from aging: liquorice, cloves, pepper and toasted bread. In the mouth, power emerges, the expression of friendly tannins, with a good balance between acidity and alcohol content, ending in a marked, long and complex palate.
