Description
Messorio is Le Macchiole's most famous wine, from Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast, and one of Italy's great pure Merlots, made in small quantities.
It is 100% Merlot, classified as Toscana IGT. The 2016, from a very balanced year in Bolgheri, shows plum, blackberry, cocoa, spice and Mediterranean herb notes, with a dense texture, fine tannins and a long finish. It is entering a good drinking window and still has years ahead.
Pair with red meat, game and aged cheese. Serve at 17–18 °C.
Store the bottle lying down, away from light and vibration, at a steady 12 to 14 °C. At Vinogrande every bottle is carefully packed so it reaches you in the best condition.
