Description
Luce was born from a partnership between the Frescobaldi and Mondavi families in Montalcino, and was the first wine in the area to blend Sangiovese and Merlot. Today it is made by the Frescobaldi family's Tenuta Luce.
It is classified as Toscana IGT, at 14.5% abv. The 2021 shows ripe black fruit, spice and toasty notes, with a rich texture, ripe tannins and a long finish, joining Sangiovese's structure to Merlot's softness.
Pair with red meat, pasta with ragù and aged cheese. Serve at 18 °C.
