Description
Capoforte Primocapo Primitivo di Manduria Riserva DOC Tinto 2021 is a high-end Italian red made by the prestigious Masseria Capoforte in the famous Puglia region of southern Italy. The 2021 vintage marks an important step, as this iconic label gained the prestigious DOC Primitivo di Manduria Riserva classification.
Deep and enveloping on the nose, it shows marked ripe-fruit expression, with notes of plum jelly, blueberries and amarena cherries. With time in the glass come nuances of sweet spice, vanilla, cocoa and toasted wood, ending in an elegant tobacco register.
PalateOn the palate it's full-bodied, powerful and warm, with a solid, very well-defined structure. The firm but ripe, velvety tannins find the balance they need in the acidity, preserving freshness and tension. The finish is long, persistent and dry, leaving a strong, complex impression.
Food pairingFood Pairing
Particularly suited to grilled or roast red meats, game dishes and pasta with rich, intense meat sauces. It also pairs very well with cured and hard cheeses, especially stronger ones.
