This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle.
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.

Description
Ferro da Ferradosa Douro Tinto is an elegant, fresh wine with very pure fruit aromas and a long, very fresh finish. Great balance and acidity, intense and velvety: a red of great elegance.
Ferro da Ferradosa Douro Tinto shows the unique, distinctive character of the quinta, where we found the vineyards we feel express the Douro we know.
The grapes come from a vineyard planted in 1998 with only Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. For the 2019 Ferro da Ferradosa, a blend of 40% Touriga Franca, 50% Touriga Nacional and 10% Tinta Roriz was chosen. All the wine was fermented at the Quinta da Ferradosa winery. All the grapes were foot-trodden in traditional lagares before fermentation in stainless steel vats (5,000 kg).
The wine aged in used French oak barrels for 12 months before bottling.
