How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle.
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile

The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.

Description
An open, translucent ruby colour, showing the delicacy of the old grapes it comes from. On the nose it's elegant and subtle: fine aromas of fresh red fruit, recalling wild strawberry and raspberry, wrapped in balsamic notes of kermes oak, rockrose and a very delicate minty streak.
PalateOn the palate it confirms the promise of the nose: a red that's light in texture but full of ‘nuances’. Lively, precise acidity supports the whole, giving freshness and tension. The tannins are round and well shaped, joining the subtle minerality and earthy feel left by ageing in cement and clay and cocciopesto amphorae. There are also echoes of orange and gentle spice that add complexity and originality.
FinishThe finish is long, quietly firm, with an authentic character that recalls the old reds of the Serra do Mendro: pure, transparent wines of great regional typicity. A micro-terroir wine, more contemplative than exuberant, that invites careful, unhurried tasting.
