Characteristics and Tasting Notes
Raw materials: Distilled from the best Fernão Pires white wines and Castelão red wines from Quinta do Piloto's vineyards.
Ageing: It spends more than 50 years in an 800-litre cask in the Quinta do Piloto cellar, giving it complexity.
Appearance: A deep amber colour with olive-green nuances and marked, evident tears in the glass, according to descriptions from Portugal Vineyards and Garrafeira S. Pedro.
Aroma and Flavour: The aromatic profile is complex, with notes of dried and candied fruit, complemented by hints of tobacco and old wood. On the palate it's described as smooth and complex, with a very gentle dryness that invites sipping.
