Description
Terras Gauda La Mar 2022 is a singular, high-end white from the D.O. Rías Baixas (Galicia, Spain), made by the prestigious Bodegas Terras Gauda. It stands out for being made almost entirely from Caíño Blanco, a very minor native Galician grape with limited production.
This is a very special, singular white, as it's made mainly from Caíño Blanco (known in Portugal as Alvarinhão), a native, very minor Galician grape. The grape's essential virtue is its ability to draw the most from the terroir where it grows. Its excellent acidity and delicious range of citrus and tropical aromas make it an extraordinary choice with seafood.
It has a captivating bright straw-yellow colour. The nose is expressive and elegant, with a powerful, refreshing aromatic profile: seductive notes of citrus and ripe tropical fruit such as pineapple, peach and melon stand out, complemented by delicate saline touches, aromatic herbs and a subtle creamy nuance from ageing on fine lees.
PalateOn the palate it's broad, round and silky, with an enveloping texture and remarkable persistence. Vibrant acidity brings balance and tension, extending the finish and adding freshness to a harmonious, sophisticated whole.
