Chave Sélection Côtes-du-Rhône "Mon Coeur" 2009 is a French red offering excellent value, made by the négociant arm of one of the most legendary families in the Rhône Valley, whose winemaking heritage dates back to 1481. While Domaine Chave's top wines (such as the coveted Hermitage) fetch astronomical prices, the Sélection range offers an affordable insight into Jean-Louis Chave's technical rigour and blending mastery. The 2009 vintage, blessed with particularly favourable conditions in the Rhône Valley, produced wines of great concentration, aromatic richness and structure. Nuances of black pepper, leather, liquorice and subtle mineral and smoky notes add depth and personality.
