Description
Anselmo Mendes Expressões Alvarinho 2022 is an outstanding white wine from the prestigious Monção e Melgaço sub-region, within the Vinho Verde Demarcated Region. Made by winemaker Anselmo Mendes, known as the "master of Alvarinho", this single-varietal wine is aged in French oak barrels to build greater complexity.

Anselmo Mendes Expressões Alvarinho stands out for the harmonious way it expresses the terroir of Quinta da Torre. Rather than reflecting a single plot, it comes from a careful blend of the eight textures and eight types of alluvial soil identified on the estate, aiming to give a broad, authentic picture of its origin.
On the nose it shows remarkable complexity and elegance, with Alvarinho's characteristic fruit seamlessly woven into subtle notes from extended ageing. On the palate it impresses with its volume and structure, balanced by vibrant acidity that brings freshness, precision and great harmony.
According to Luis Gutiérrez in The Wine Advocate, this is a wine that is enjoyable from an early stage, already very well defined and ready to drink. Even so, its structure and balance point to excellent potential for development in bottle, revealing new nuances and greater complexity over the years.
