Herdade Grande
Alentejo (Vidigueira), Portugal · since 1997
A Vidigueira estate in the Lança family since 1920, when Ernesto dos Santos Lança bought it. For decades its grapes went to the local co-operative, until in 1997 António Lança set up as a producer-bottler and released the estate's first wine. The fourth generation now runs it, with Diogo Lopes as winemaker.

Description
A clear, luminous wine with an enveloping lemon colour and yellow glints. The nose has great fruit intensity, mainly tropical fruit, complemented by citrus notes and a light toasty touch. Rounded on the palate, with a rich flavour of tropical fruit, peach, passion fruit and notes of honey. Well-balanced acidity, good structure, an oily texture and a fine but very persistent finish.
