Poças
Douro, Portugal · since 1918
Founded in 1918 by Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior, the house began by selling grape spirit to Port shippers. In 1932 it received Quinta das Quartas in settlement of a debt and started making wine. It is still run by the same family, now in its fourth generation, with three estates, one in each Douro sub-region, and 76 hectares of vines.

Description
Poças Fora da Série Plano B 2021 is a Douro white of marked character and experimental spirit, built on the natural freshness of Rabigato and the precision of Gouveio. Subtle and elegant on the nose, with a distinctly mineral, stony profile wrapped in fine vegetal nuances that give it depth. The second-use barrel is only a discreet frame, adding texture without weight.
PalateThe palate impresses with its vibrant citrus acidity: cutting, crisp and extremely clean. Medium-to-full-bodied, very well balanced by the tension running through the whole palate. It finishes long and energetic, with great strength and mineral persistence.
A modern, precise white full of identity, confirming the boldness and skill of the Fora da Série range. Very good!
