Monica Larner: The Il Poggione 2019 Brunello di Montalcino has an evolved bouquet, with aromas of dried fruit, forest floor, crushed flowers and autumn leaves. In the background, notes of dark licorice, wet slate, cola and grilled rosemary emerge. The tannins are fine and dry. As a result, I recommend a medium-term drinking window.
Il Poggione is one of the outstanding wineries located near the picturesque village of Sant'Angelo in Colle. Its vineyards are located at altitudes ranging from 150 to 450 meters above sea level. The vines are between 25 and 59 years old.
