Niepoort Sempar Red 2019

After several joint projects in the Alentejo region, Dirk Niepoort literally put his “hands in the wine” and ventured out alone to explore Portalegre in Alto Alentejo. Sempar means unique, unique, incomparable and perfectly reflects the profile of wines in which Niepoort believes: uncomplicated wines that represent the maximum expression of the vineyard that gave rise to them. Dirk Niepoort has a huge admiration for the Portalegre area in the Alentejo region. The elegance and balance between the Granite and Schist soils, as well as the altitude of the Serra de S. Mamede, give the wines a dimension of acidity that translates into versatility.

Exuberant nose with expressive fruit. But more than just fruity, it has enormous freshness with a great bouquet. Structured and elegant wine, balanced by persistent acidity and concise and precise tannins. Very long finish, with great aging potential.
