Wine profile
Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 5 out of 5 — closer to «crisp».
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol
This wine: 2 out of 5 — closer to «low» (12% vol.).
Alcohol brings warmth and body. Still wines usually sit between about 11% and 15% ABV, while fortified wines such as Port sit around 19–20%.
Wine profile

Based on the 2020 vintage (the youngest vintage serves as the "base" of the bottling, even if it isn't the majority of the blend) and incorporating 71% reserve wines — half stored as individual vintages and half as a perpetual reserve started in 2006 — Billecart-Salmon's latest NV Le Réserve is showing very well.
It shows aromas of green pear, honeysuckle, brioche and white peach. Disgorged in early 2024 with a dosage of three grams per litre, this reformulated cuvée recently underwent a significant reduction in dosage. The sweetness so often found on the finish of Grande Marque NV Champagnes is no longer there.
ColourMedium- to full-bodied, vibrant and charming, with a textural attack and lively acidity, it culminates in a long, precise finish. This reinvented cuvée replaces the Brut Réserve and, besides the lower dosage, features a stricter fruit selection, 20 extra months of ageing sur lattes (now 50 months in total) and a larger share of the perpetual reserve.
