Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 2 out of 5 — closer to «silky».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «crisp».
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile

Description
Château Pontet-Canet 2022 is widely considered one of the standout wines of the 2022 Bordeaux vintage, receiving near-perfect scores from several leading critics. This Pauillac red is praised for its purity, energy and balance, despite 14.5% to 14.7% alcohol.
The Wine AdvocateRP 97Reviewed by: Yohan Castaing
Living up to the expectations set during the en primeur tastings, the Pontet-Canet 2023 offers a vibrant, perfumed bouquet of cassis, blackberries, rose petals, pencil shavings and liquorice. Medium to full-bodied, harmonious and pure, it has great depth and precision, supported by delicately crafted tannins and a powerful yet perfectly controlled structure. The finish is long, crystalline and marked by liquorice.
A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, this wine heralds a new aesthetic era for the estate, marked by greater purity, freshness and precision.
