Description
In Portugal's Alentejo region, Quinta de Dona Maria is known for its 18th-century palace, which is not only a historic landmark but has also been linked to winemaking for over 150 years.
In 1988, under new owner Júlio Bastos, the estate's wines began to be sold in Portugal and abroad, winning recognition from the public and wine critics alike.
Although the old winery has been restored, enlarged and modernised, the 19th-century marble lagares have been kept and remain at the heart of making these quality wines.
Dark ruby colour. A rich aroma of wild berries, with mint and spice. The flavour is intense and round, with silky tannins and a persistent finish.
