Description
Kompassus Private Collection Tinto 2018 is a very limited-production red made by the prestigious Kompassus winery in Portugal's emblematic Bairrada region. With consultancy from renowned winemaker Anselmo Mendes, it's made from 90-year-old vines of the iconic Baga grape.
Colour & aromaBright ruby, it shows captivating intensity from the start. The nose has a dark, resinous feel, where raspberry and blackberry intertwine with notes of ripe morello cherry. Then come nuances of thyme, coffee and fine spice, wrapped in a delicate floral touch that adds elegance.
PalateOn the palate it's compact, focused and firm, with well-defined structure and solid but polished tannins. It's already enveloping, showing balance and depth, while hinting at promising potential to develop in bottle.
A brilliant example of Baga at full maturity, where the grape's characteristic finesse and freshness come through with precision and distinction.
