Description
Lacrau Superior Tinto 2023 is a premium red made by Secret Spot Wines in Portugal's prestigious Douro demarcated region. It stands out for its complexity, made from vines over 50 years old.
Hand-harvested. Hand-sorted bunches. Destemmed, then crushed. Foot-trodden fermentation in lagar and fermentation in stainless steel with post-fermentation maceration. Aged in oak casks for 14 to 18 months. Several old-vine plots, some with more than 20 different grapes. Vines over 50 years old. A wine of good depth and aromatic complexity. Excellent integration of oak. Good structure, firm yet silky tannins. Very long. Garnet colour of good intensity and depth. Nose: Complex and deep, recalling ripe red and black fruit wrapped in spicy notes that add elegance. On the palate, soft tannins wrapped in fruit. Good flavour. Excellent structure. Very long finish.
