Wine profile
Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle.
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 2 out of 5 — closer to «soft».
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «high» (14% vol.).
Alcohol brings warmth and body. Still wines usually sit between about 11% and 15% ABV, while fortified wines such as Port sit around 19–20%.

Description
Overture 2022 is the latest release of the "second wine" of the iconic Opus One, in Napa Valley, California.
Although Overture was historically a multi-vintage blend, from the 2021 release the estate began putting the vintage on the label to highlight the specific characteristics of each season.

Robert Mondavi was a pioneer of American winemaking and owned one of the world's most awarded and successful wineries. By adapting Old World tradition to American wine country, Mondavi produced accessible, unique wines that appeal to amateurs and experts alike. The Napa Valley vineyards are among California's oldest winegrowing areas. The Mondavi signature is credited with driving the modern rise of the American wine industry.
Following the tradition of many great Bordeaux châteaux, Opus One makes a second wine called Overture. Every section of the estate is meticulously farmed with the attention to detail and unique approach needed to produce Opus One. An extensive blending process takes place, and not every lot of the estate's wines is chosen for the final Opus One blend. This wine has aromas of blueberries, currants and plums giving way to hot chocolate, vanilla notes and a touch of coffee. Fully integrated tannins and low acidity. Expressive on the mid-palate. The finish is quite long.
