The Fora da Série Orange Wine 2019 is an equal blend of Arinto and Códega this year, aged for six months in second-use French oak. As an orange wine, it naturally had skin contact, fermenting on the skins for 15 days. It comes in at 12.8% alcohol. It comes from a specific parcel at Cavalos. And, as an orange wine, it isn't your typical white. In many cases it goes better with dishes that would normally call for a tannic red.

Its strength makes it different. Firm and grippy on the finish, it also has fine acidity that combines with persistent flavours. Robust as this style tends to be, it's also very flavourful, showing good fruit and character. It avoids the bitterness and excessive oxidation this style often produces. I liked it a lot, but you need to adjust your expectations. It should age very well. Let's start here and see how it evolves; this is only the second vintage.
