Description
Quinta da Pellada Carrocel Tinto 2022 is one of the most emblematic and sought-after reds of the Dão demarcated region, made by renowned grower Álvaro de Castro and his daughter Maria Castro. It's designed as a pure, "rare signature" expression of Touriga Nacional, made only in years when the grapes reach exceptional quality.
Quinta da Pellada Carrocel 2022 received 95 points from critic James Suckling, who highlighted its impressive expressiveness and elegance. It's a wine of great aromatic intensity, with fresh notes of pine, rosemary and wild thyme, wrapped in delicate floral hints of rose and violet.
On the palate it shows a well-defined dark-fruit profile, with fresh plums, blackberries and black cherries leading. Full-bodied and made exclusively from Touriga Nacional, it has remarkable structure and depth.
Although already very appealing to drink now, this wine also has excellent ageing potential, promising to develop well in bottle over time.
