Description
Quinta da Pellada Casa Tinto 2018 (also often referred to as Casa & Mata) is one of the most respected and elegant reds of the emblematic Dão region, made by renowned winemaker Álvaro Castro.
Initially closed, it shows a nose of great depth, marked by a distinct mineral component and a subtle note of reduction, which quickly gives way to a highly complex aromatic whole. Delicate nuances of bergamot, violets, orange peel, cocoa and vanilla appear.
On the palate it's precise, elegant and deeply food-friendly, combining an enveloping texture with generous, fine, well-integrated tannins. The firm, mineral acidity gives tension, freshness and great definition.
A wine where expression of terroir takes centre stage, favouring purity, minerality and freshness over fruity exuberance. Its structure and depth also show clear potential for evolution in bottle.
