Wine profile
Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile

Description
Quinta da Terrugem's top wine was born in the 1999 vintage, and this 2001 was the second edition. It made waves when it reached the market almost two decades ago, not only for its high quality but also for its very ambitious price, at the time surpassed in the region only by Pêra-Manca and little else. Now part of Bacalhôa, Quinta da Terrugem is one of the rare unirrigated Alentejo vineyards, which makes life very hard for those tending the vines but, in compensation, in years that aren't too dry and hot, gives fantastic wines with a huge sense of terroir. Such is this 2001, made with Trincadeira, Aragonez and Cabernet: peppery, with luxurious tannins and plenty of presence.
