Description
Quinta dos Abibes Amonite Tinto 2023 is a singular red made in Portugal's prestigious Bairrada region, signed by winemaker Osvaldo Amado. It's an authentic "field blend" that revives regional tradition by co-fermenting red and white grapes planted together.
Amonite takes its name from the flint fossils found in the vineyard plot its grapes come from, reflecting a strong link to the terroir.
It comes from a singular blend of seven grapes — Touriga Nacional, Baga, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tinta Roriz, Syrah, Arinto and Bical — planted in the same vineyard about two decades ago. The grapes are picked and fermented together, preserving the identity and harmony of the whole.
Colour & aromaIt has a pale, delicate ruby colour. On the nose, fresh notes of red and forest fruit stand out, complemented by subtle spicy touches. On the palate it's elegant and balanced, with soft, well-integrated tannins, vibrant, food-friendly acidity and remarkable freshness that extends the pleasure of tasting.
