Soalheiro Primeiras Vinhas Alvarinho 2024 is a premium white made by Quinta do Soalheiro in the Monção e Melgaço sub-region of Vinho Verde.
This wine is known for its complexity and elegance, coming from old vines over 40 years old, planted in 1974.

The 2024 Primeiras Vinhas was made with Alvarinho from the first family vineyard they planted, in 1974. Whole bunches were gently pressed, and the must fermented with indigenous yeasts, mostly (85%) in stainless steel, used barrels, a 5,000-litre oak vat and 2,000-litre oak foudres, with no malolactic fermentation and extended contact with the fine lees.
I love the purity and crystalline character of this cuvée. It's still young and undeveloped, with that puppy fat of youth that needs some time in bottle to integrate. But it already shows early complexity, slowly unfolding layers of aromas and a serious, dry, chalky palate. It has 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.17 and 6.9 grams of acidity. It should develop very well in bottle.
33,461 bottles, 300 magnums and 100 double magnums were produced. It was bottled in July 2025.
Soalheiro has a huge portfolio of different bottlings. They make close to a million bottles, but the number of wines is a bit overwhelming, as they keep adding to the range. They farm 50 hectares of vineyards aged between five and 50 years, including an experimental plot at 1,100 metres.
