Description
Terras Gauda Etiqueta Negra 2022 is a top-of-the-range white from the prestigious Bodegas Terras Gauda, in the O Rosal sub-region of the D.O. Rías Baixas, Galicia. It stands out for fermentation and ageing in oak, offering a complex, structured take on Galician whites.
Terras Gauda Etiqueta Negra 2022 is a highly expressive white made from a traditional blend of 70% Albariño, 23% Caíño Blanco and 7% Loureiro. The grapes come from vines around 30 years old on distinctive soils of metamorphic schist (slate) and granite, a terroir that gives the wine great personality, minerality and depth.
After fermentation, the wine ages for 4 to 5 months in new French oak barrels on fine lees with regular bâtonnage, followed by a rest in tank and refinement in bottle. This careful winemaking adds complexity, texture and elegance while preserving the grapes' freshness and identity.
In the glass it's an intense, bright straw-yellow. The nose is rich and expressive, with vibrant notes of tangerine, peach and quince jelly, harmoniously integrated with delicate hints of fresh bread, melted butter and light smoky and toasty nuances from the oak.
PalateOn the palate it stands out for its structure, unctuousness and volume, balanced by lively, fruity acidity giving freshness and tension. The finish is long, silky and persistent, showing excellent integration of fruit, oak and the terroir's characteristic minerality.
