This wine: 1 out of 5 — closer to «silky».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.

The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.

Description
Dona Francisca Rosé 2024 is a sophisticated, high-level rosé from the prestigious Douro region of Portugal. Made by producer António Augusto Ferreira in the Folgosa do Douro area, it stands out for its excellent food-friendliness.
92/100Points – Paulo Castro | Vinogrande
Dona Francisca Rosé 2024 is, without hesitation, my favourite rosé of the vintage. A wine that combines elegance, personality and great food-friendliness, in a segment where the quality-to-price ratio is simply exemplary.
Colour & aromaLight salmon in colour, bright and very appealing, it shows a sophisticated, modern profile from the first moment. The nose stands out for the purity of its fresh red fruit, reminiscent of wild strawberries and raspberries, with delicate floral notes and a well-defined mineral component that gives identity and depth.
PalateThe palate is where it truly wins you over. Far from the light, fleeting profile of many rosés, it has structure, volume and remarkable presence. The Douro grapes, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Roriz, bring firmness and character, while perfectly integrated acidity ensures vibrant freshness and impeccable balance. The finish is long and precise, marked by a pleasant mineral sensation that prolongs the pleasure.
I give it 92 points not only for its evident winemaking quality and excellent technical execution, but also because it delivers a level of sophistication and pleasure well above what its price suggests in this segment. It is a rosé made for the table, versatile and food-friendly, able to accompany dishes with some structure without losing the delicacy and freshness that make it so captivating.
One of the most complete, balanced and interesting rosés I have tasted this year.92 Points – Highly Recommended.
