Herdade Grande
Alentejo (Vidigueira), Portugal · since 1997
A Vidigueira estate in the Lança family since 1920, when Ernesto dos Santos Lança bought it. For decades its grapes went to the local co-operative, until in 1997 António Lança set up as a producer-bottler and released the estate's first wine. The fourth generation now runs it, with Diogo Lopes as winemaker.

Description
With some very traditional Vidigueira grapes (Antão Vaz, Perrum, Roupeiro) and one less so (Alvarinho), this is a deep-coloured “talha” wine with an intense aroma of citrus peel and clay. Very lively and balanced on the palate, with excellent citrus freshness, broad and very convincing.
