Wine profile
Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 5 out of 5 — closer to «firm».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 5 out of 5 — closer to «crisp».
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «high» (14% vol.).

Description
New release at the Vinogrande wine shop.
Kompassus Gene Tinto 2019 has just arrived in our shop: an exclusive, full-bodied top-of-the-range Bairrada red, made for long ageing. This vintage is its debut at Vinogrande.
Kompassus Gene tinto 2019 is a highly exclusive top-of-the-range wine made by the renowned Kompassus Boutique Winery, in Portugal's iconic Bairrada wine region.
Deep and intense in colour, Kompassus Gene Tinto has a full-bodied, imposing profile with marked balsamic expression. On the nose it stands out for its aromatic freshness, with notes of spice and ripe, jammy fruit.
On the palate it has great volume and concentration, supported by vibrant acidity giving freshness and balance. The tannins are very firm but polished and elegant, contributing to a solid structure and a long, persistent finish.
A red of great presence and ageing potential, clearly made for long cellaring, where it can develop more complexity and depth.
