Louca Tinto 2021 is a wine born from a challenge between Luís Louro and Inês Capão. Accustomed to working together, they challenged each other to create a signature wine, made individually, without interference from each other. With this challenge, they managed to prove that it is possible to have different approaches to a region as diverse as Alentejo. It has an elegant aroma. In the mouth it is fresh, with solid but fine tannins, light, with a long and persistent finish. It has great aging potential. A different red, worth trying!

LOUca Tinto 2021 is the fourth edition of this experimental wine and is actually a blend of wines from the 2020 and 2021 harvests, with 50% Trincadeira and 50% Castelão from two vineyards: one planted in 2018 and regrafted in 2020, and another planted in 1993 with both varieties. Fermentation took place with destemmed and foot-trodden grapes, being pressed after 24 hours and finishing fermentation without the skins in used French oak barrels, where it matured for a year.

This is the lightest of all and my favorite among the reds, with a more delicate and elegant profile, floral and perfumed. It has 12.8% alcohol content, pH of 3.43, light to medium body, very fine tannins and clean, long and tasty flavors. Production of 1,100 bottles. It was bottled in August 2023.

Luis Louro is the son of Miguel Louro, from Quinta do Mouro. He created Adega Monte Branco in 2004, in Estremoz, after two years buying land, planting and acquiring vineyards. He does not use herbicides and has increasingly focused on native grape varieties. He works a total of 28 hectares divided into five plots, all in Estremoz, the oldest of which was planted in 1993.
