Useful approximate serving ranges:
- Sparkling / Champagne: 6–8 °C
- Light white: 8–10 °C
- Full white / light red: 10–14 °C
- Medium red: 14–16 °C
- Bold red: 16–18 °C
- Vintage / LBV Port: about 16 °C; Tawny can be a touch cooler
Avoid warm “room temperature” in summer — a red at 22 °C tastes alcoholic and short. An ice-water bucket cools a bottle in about 15–20 minutes.
