Pai Abel red wine 2015/2016/2017

The name Mário Sérgio Alves Nuno may not mean much to the most absent-minded, but he is nothing less than the great mentor behind the great wines of Quinta das Bágeiras. The history of Quinta das Bágeiras can be summed up by the work of 3 generations, however, it was only in 1989, and under the leadership of Mário Sérgio, that the bottling and sale of Quinta das Bágeiras wines began, quickly becoming a reference in Bairrada wines and in Portugal.

Although produced according to the procedures of previous generations, Quinta das Bágeiras wines are not trendy wines, but rather are always in fashion, revealing with each harvest the character of the region and the people who produce them.

The 2016 edition returns to the combination of power and elegance taken to the highest level that we found in 2011. Baga (80%) and Touriga Nacional (20%) combine fantastically, with forest fruits, moss and herbs, various spices, full body enveloping muscular tannins. It finishes fine, very long, fresh, full of personality. Remarkable.
