Description

Winemaker’s Collection is the singular Douro DOC collection under which limited editions are released: red, white and rosé, numbered and signed by winemaker Ricardo Macedo. For this Reserva Rosé the Tinto Cão grape was chosen, one of the Douro's most singular varieties, with small bunches and thick skins. With captivating acidity and soft yet robust tannins, it gives good ageing ability, longevity and freshness. An elegant, broad and complex rosé aged in the Quinta de S. Luiz cellar. A numbered lot of 7,450 bottles

Very expressive on the nose, with florals and just enough white fruit, light fresh wild berries and a vegetal, wet-stone touch that gives it seriousness. On the palate it leans to perfumed citrus such as tangerine, orange, lime and orange blossom, in a rosé with great acidic structure and a springlike profile, still very young with potential to grow in bottle. A peppery finish gives it a twist and confirms its affinity for food.
