Description

Kilchoman Machir Bay is the core single malt from Kilchoman, a farm distillery founded in 2005 on the west coast of Islay. Kilchoman grows some of its own barley and carries out the whole process on the island, from malting to bottling.

Matured mostly in bourbon casks with a finish in oloroso sherry casks, it is bottled at 46%. The nose has peat smoke, lemon, vanilla and fresh fruit. The palate is sweet and smoky, with citrus, pear and spice. The finish is long, with smoke and a touch of dried fruit.

A young, vibrant and very balanced Islay. Serve neat, with a little water or in a smoky highball. It pairs with smoked fish, oysters, grilled pork and aged cheeses.
