Wine profile
Body
This wine: 2 out of 5 — closer to «light».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 1 out of 5 — closer to «silky».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 5 out of 5 — closer to «crisp».
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol

Description
Kompassus Rosé Tête de Cuvée Coleção Privada 2017 is an ultra-limited still rosé (just 1,300 bottles) made in the prestigious Bairrada region by Kompassus Vinhos. Designed by producer João Póvoa with winemaker Patrícia Santos (building on a historic experiment with Anselmo Mendes), it's an out-of-the-box rosé with a distinctly food-friendly profile.
João Póvoa started making wine in 1991 with the Quinta de Baixo brand, becoming the first benchmark individual producer in the municipality of Cantanhede.
In 2005 the Kompassus company was founded, with a winemaking philosophy rooted in family traditions.
Today João Póvoa remains dedicated to making outstanding wines through minimal-intervention production and vineyard practices.
Colour & aromaA very pale, bright copper colour. A creamy, fascinating nose with notes of iodine, shellfish and dried seaweed, all very subtle and refined. It has a pain grillé side that recalls the sparkling base it could have been. Full on the palate, with high acidity and a herbal streak, plenty of creaminess and texture, nerve, full of personality and incredible sophistication. A long, very tasty finish with an iodine note reminiscent of the Atlantic coast.
