Description
Bright citrine with subtle greenish tints, showing youth and freshness. On the nose it's intense and captivating, with well-defined citrus notes, ‘nuances’ of dried flowers and tropical and white-fleshed fruit, making an elegant, complex bouquet.
PalateOn the palate it stands out for its soft texture combined with a full, enveloping structure. Freshness and natural acidity give balance and liveliness, while the fruit carries through to a long, persistent finish. With marked aromatic intensity on both nose and palate, this Alvarinho is very food-friendly, ideal with oily fish, shellfish or white meats.
A white with a rustic yet sophisticated profile, authentically conveying the character and excellence of Alvarinho at grande reserva level.
The ‘Cortes do Tua’ wines come from the meeting of thirty-year-old vines in the Tua valley and two young winemakers, Duarte da Costa and Ana de Almeida. Their passion for wine, international experience and the Douro's winemaking tradition brought them together to make harmonious, balanced, elegant wines. The grapes for the Cortes do Tua wines come from 15 hectares of vineyards divided into plots.
The white-wine vineyards are at 500 to 700 m altitude, and the red-wine vineyards are on the slopes of the Tua river at 300 to 400 m. The Cortes do Tua winery is in the Douro Superior sub-region in Pombal de Ansiães, Carrazeda de Ansiães.
